Manchester Medley HPRA Racers
A Beautiful racing weekend was in store for us for the annual recumbent
races in North Manchester,Indiana. Temps were perfect, in the upper 70s,
and winds were low. Races were held at the N. Manchester high school on
August 16th and 17th, 2008. Race director Jeff Hunn arranged a series of
events that left us all tired and happy.

| Later, the trikes did a race
in the parking lot, with lots of sharp corners marked off by cones. It
was great fun to watch. Dennis Grelk on the Hase trike led most of the
race, and Chris Burkhart stayed hot on his tail. This corner was the
most exciting, with Dennis lifting his inside wheel on almost every lap.
Eventually Chris Burkhart wiped out at this corner, then rolled his
trike at the next big sweeper, so he ended up finishing 3rd after Chris
Cortez. |
