Hello all! let's get a head count...
Please post here:
The name of the bike,
who(s) will be riding,
owner and builder.
consider including other details like configuration, # wheels, rider position...
Please leave chatter and other comments (challenges, digs and banter) to another topic.
it is looking like it will be a very busy event with a record number of participants (and volunteers I hope).

I will start another topic about volunteers
THANKS!!!

Team Schroeder

vehicles: Fire Fly( video tadpole trike), Spavari ( turtle deck trike?)

Riders: James, Tiff, Kara, Don, + potential junior male and female riders.

Team will furnish some volunteers.

Comment: Using optical or chip timing for the qualifiers may provide the means to accommodate the larger than usual number of vehicles and riders expected at this years event. (ie. no set up time to lay tapes would allow the first vehicle to be launched as soon as the road is closed and chip timing might allow closer launching intervals.) Given the historic lesser accuracy of these systems there would likely have to be an "official qualifying time" not eligible for record status and then tape timing of the evening (and possibly 1 or 2 morning) runs for the official record attempts.

Team : University of Toronto
Bikes: Bluenose, Vortex, ACE
Riders: Not clear yet. Pretty much everyone in the team expressed interest to come race, we might split into 3 small teams, each one with a bike. Right now we have a headcount of 10.

The bikes are all 2 wheeled recumbents. The owner and builder is the University of Toronto Human Powered Vehicle Team.

C3H5N3O9 = Nitroglycerine = Boom!

Garrie, I think a better, more clearer stoichiometric expression might be....
(4)C3H5N3O9 = (6)N2 + (12)CO2 + (10)H2O + (1)O2
which balances out with
12 Carbons
20 Hydrogens
12 Nitrogrens
36 Oxygens

How did you come up with this?!
I found an answer here (from 6 years ago):
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061028162835AAdT9zk

The output of that equation Nitrogen, Carbon Dioxide, Water, Oxygen is relatively harmless.
Garrie L Hill Posted - 06/12/2012 : 05:06:38
C3H5N3O9

4C3H5N3O9>>6N2 +12CO2 +10H2O +O2
She go BOOM!!!!!

Well, I have one... ahem...

I hope Warren's taking notes, because this will fill in the participant page nicely: http://www.recumbents.com/wisil/whpsc2012/racerprofiles.htm

I would add a column for racer's web pages, too, just because I hate Googling and wasting 10 seconds of my precious time. :)

Vehicle name: Completely Overzealous
Rider: Gareth Hanks age 28
Description: Next member the Overzealous trike family. We aim to explore the upper limits of trike speed in the Velomobile style format. We're currently working with 'a lil Overzealous' (Jeff's 24 hour machine) to assess mods for a high speed version. We'll likely shave yet more frontal area away too.
We'll post some build info latter in the year when we start building this machine here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Trisled/164374643594582?v=wall

Vehicle name: C3H5N3O9
Rider: Ben Goodall age 33 (but 34 on the Saturday of the event. I'd like a 70mph club membership for my birthday please! :-)
Description: SWB speed bike heavily influenced by Varna and Eivie. Designed specifically to fit me. Lots of work done on drive line and frame design to further reduce frontal area.
