Alan,
I don't see a direct link to the results you are mentioning with Tyger and Bryce.
Under Latest News button at far left, click page 2, it says "Amateur AJ Smith wins Race 2 Replace" - no mention of Tyger and Bryce.

Bryce took second in the race to replace by just a fraction of a second. This is the same guy who was winning every MATTs time trials and effectively keeping Alan from beating all of the uprights this spring and summer.

It's testament to the fact that the competitiors at the Matt's series are at the very top level of amateur racing in the US and the fact that Alan is typically placing 2nd or 3rd relative to these guys is pretty impressive.
