Are any of you all Chicago area people committed to the Iowa races this year yet? Fran, Warren, Chris & Dora?

Unfortunately for the Hangers we are going to have to not make the trip this year. My knee may be thanking me since it has been hurting since completing a century this past Sunday. It is feeling a bit better now but we will see when i test it out tonight. Best of luck to all that race this weekend.

" My knee may be thanking me since it has been hurting since......". Hah! A likely excuse. You are just chickening out because you heard that Ishtey will be at Hawkeye Downs while his dad is at Battle Mountain. ;-)

My knees are weak and hurty too, too much kneeing. I wont be making the race either, unfortunately.

Plan to come for Saturday's races with the Flyer. Nothing hurting on me, yet.

Yes the knee is an excuse Garrie, I am terrified of Ishtey. I did do a ride last night and I could tell while pushing it the pain was coming so I let off and rode with a guy that had had a flat. Really wanted to race this weekend. I think this could have been the weekend that I could have beaten Dennis. Ha ha.

I'm sure that Dennis and Dan will be putting the hurt on me this weekend!

We had a great weekend of racing at Hawkeye Downs! Saturday was hot, but Sunday was cool and perfect for streamliner racing. I had a chain derailment at the start of the 1 hour race and had to stop and climb headfirst into the bike to fix it, but after that I felt really good so was going fast enough to come in second place. Turnout was light but we had a college team from South Dakota and a new builder/racer David Somerfeld who did well on a self-built Cruzbike clone. Apparently the Cruzbike was the 13th(?!) bike that he built.
