Here is pic of my velomobiel. You want the twin no teeth chain wheels. You want chain under bridge with a tiller. It doesn’t matter about wide booms base and vertical,, your legs want hit. That is 10mm chain wheel axle, what you must use.

[/URL]

You see my seat adjustments, just quest hardware. I love my velomobiel. Like you, l own the company and will just make another.

Also remember that your structure is only as strong at it's thinnest cross section. Loads don't care how fat the ends of a structure is if it's skinny somewhere else.
Carbon over even the lightest wood is a great idea!

Also terry, you might like a big strong chain canal on this one. I dont know how your other velomobiel is in that department but my chain canal is like a spar on a plane.

I don't get how the cable steering works, how does it make the bike rigid?

A quad needs only 60% of the track of a trike (18in vs 30in) for the same corner tipping, that a 40% frontal area reduction, all things being equal, and 34% more weight on the drive wheels (50/50 vs 67/33). Though you'd probably want to make it a little wider. Storing stuff in the back doesn't reduce stability. A fwd quad would be cool.

Tony, Hilliard Corp. is a local company that make drive train components for ATVs. They list differentials and clutches which might be useful in a fwd quad.

Can’t wait to see your carbon boom construction. Iam gonna start one in month or so.

Try signing up with photobucket, i love it, & user friendly. All i own is an iPhone X. Very seldom it will shut down for mod and cleaning up some issue/not often. I have run it for years on iphone. Think i have used PB for 4 years basically no problems.

Jerry,
Yes that was basically what inspired me to try building a wood strip Velo!
He does great work. From what I understand, he has a wood work shop near Velomobile.nl. So all the bike parts are reasonably available to him.
Something like that would be of great value !, to a hacker like me.

Boom pics please, ill show my idea too.

Base of mine is basically a circle arch that glues into both wheel wells a front. Bolts to bridge as it does now with df style setup. Then boom in middle. Weight less than aluminum.

Just idea, photo sideways. On left & right it will be wide like beaver tail (where it goes on leading edge of two frt wheel wells) , wide as it is now in middle. Top arch will just be up in the air. Boom mounted same way as now but with top & bottom support. You can help me too. Plug may not be to bad to make.

I sold almost all my wood working tools. I had hundreds of clamps, tools, and fixtures. I would love to build a wood strip velo, but found out I am allergic to most wood dust and shavings. Found out the hard way by ending up in the hospital not being able to breathe and looked like a big old lobster!

That guy does do beautiful work and so do you. Keep up the great work.

Oh well, your back at the drawing board. Cantilevered booms are a headache to make strong, unlike the df quest style.
