Al has announced the 2018 dates: September 10-15 (Monday - Saturday).

There was some discussion about moving the event to August, but any potential advantage due to weather conditions was not clear from the data available.

Also remember that launch assistance on skates is not allowed this year, and every year going forward.

Look forward to coming out hopefully. Will be a big change at start. Will we see more trikes?

"Will we see more trikes?"

If we see more trikes it will be because Todd has set the bar for the world record so high that the lower bar of the multi-track record might seem an easier target for some teams but I think there will still be teams primarily interested in setting a new world record.

Noting that the launch rules don't limit the use of integrated landing gear to the 15 meter launch zone and, given the benefits of testing vehicles and training riders before challenging the world record at Battle Mountain, I suspect we'll see major improvements in the design and engineering of retractable landing gear.

Liverpool announced recently that ARION5 will be a (leg-powered) trike. Mike Mowett is doing his best to encourage them to make ARION6 a tandem trike
