| Current issues This page is for important matters that affect the club treasury. Please read the following and if you would like to add your input in public, log on to the BENT mailing list management page at http://list.marsride.org, subscribe to the list and take part in the discussion. Voting on issues affecting the expenditure of club funds is subject to our official voting procedure. Voting on anything involving the spending of money is open only to paid up members. UPDATED April 7, 2006 MARS Jersey Project The current issue facing the club is the MARS jersey project. As of April 7, our designer/member Chris Spollen has produced a fine jersey design and has extended it to a cycling cap. He is still working on an adaptation for a headsweat. Once we have the final designs in hand, formal vote proposals will be drafted by Andy Douglas to determine how the club treasury will be used to support this project. Anyone who wishes to take part in the drafting of the proposals should contact Andy directly. Because of the overwhelming support shown to date for this project, several issues may be combined into one vote in order to advance the project more quickly. There are several issues to be decided, some of which are foregone conclusions...but others warrant some discussion: - Whether to spend club funds to kick start the project. - How to price the jerseys...what they will cost for paid-up club members vs. others. - What the club treasury will pay for to benefit the paid membership (e.g., discounts, shipping). - Whether to order extra jerseys to accomodate future orders, and if so how many. Stay tuned...this promises to be a very successful project! |
