| The Wind in my Soul
Created by Ross Lowell, HPV enthusiast and filmmaker extraordinaire
One of the many wonderful things about our club is the diversity of talent we have. Not least among these is Ross Lowell, winner of an Academy Award for his unique film lighting hardware design, world traveler, trike enthusiast, and (with his most SO Marilyn) host of the best fall ride to be found anywhere.
Ross's passion is making movies, and he's produced a few HPV-oriented films that are truly superb. The latest, completed and released in Y2K, is entitled The Wind in my Soul. It's a personal account of Ross's delight and fascination with cycling and the people around the world who share his interest in it.
Ross is still working out distribution details, but for now you can contact Johannes at Northeast Recumbents to obtain a copy. Take our word for it... it's well worth it.
Below are Ross's own words about the film, with a link some images from it.
"The Wind In My Soul" is a 35 minute short that explores the world of cycling in a lyrical, enlightening and often humorous way. It is the story of a seventy year-old man's rediscovery of his childhood passion for bicycles, and the fascinating characters and fantastic pedal-powered contraptions he encounters during three years of cycle journeys across Europe and The Americas.
Digitally produced by Academy Award-winning filmmaker, author, and inventor Ross Lowell, the film has received rave reviews:
