Driving directions: Delaware Water Gap The gathering place is Kittatinny Point Visitor Center, just off Interstate 80 Exit 1 in New Jersey (This exit is not marked with a number: it just says "Millbrook/Flatbrookville" -- last exit before Delaware Water Gap toll bridge heading west; first exit in NJ heading east). Follow the brown signs to the Visitor Center and park there. There is another lot near the highway if parking at the Center is a problem. Note that the distance from the George Washington Bridge to the Delaware Water Gap is about 70 miles - so if you're coming from the NY or NJ metro area, give yourself plenty of time to get there. The Visitor Center is open daily 9:00-5:00 spring through late October, and most weekends in winter. The Visitor Center has information, audio-visual program, displays, a sales outlet for park-related items and restrooms. Rangers offer impromptu Terrace Talks on weekends. Phone 908-496-4458. |
