Ride description: Lambertville, NJ

Lambertville to Frenchtown to Upper Black Eddy, PA to Milford, NJ to Frenchtown and return - 30-42 miles (variable)

In its simplest form, this is a straight out-and-back loop from Lambertville to Frenchtown along Rt. 29. An additional loop of 12 miles crosses the Delaware River into PA, and winds up back in Frenchtown. It's impossible to get lost, and there are wide shoulders most of the way. It's a great ride to hammer on, or just relax and check out the scenery.

Speaking of scenery, the view going north is dramatically different from the view going south. The route has the Delaware River on one side and cliffs on the other. First time riders find it hard to believe that the return leg is the same route they just rode 15 miles on.

There are good eats at several places along the route. Get there early for excellent “power bagels” at the bagel shop in the shopping center where the ride begins. There are also places in Frenchtown and good muffins at "The Bakery" in Milford.

There are also several places with toilets in the towns, and at Bulls Island State Park, eight miles south of Frenchtown.
