Ride description: Raptor Center

George Washington HQ (Morristown, NJ) to Raptor Center - 27 miles.

This ride starts from the George Washington's Headquarters parking lot in Morristown, easily accessed off of Interstate 287 (a major north-south freeway).

The first part of the ride starts out on the bike trails through Loantaka Park which automatically limits
the speeds to no more than 10 mph. At the end of the bike path we go on fairly lightly traveled roads. The ride continues through the great swamp to the Raptor Center where injured raptors are brought back to health. These birds are fantastic. This is the turn around point which is about 14 miles. Total distance about 27 miles.

There are places where riders can cut the ride shorter if they want to. Distance about 15 miles.

There also are designated collecting points so that if a rider does get behind they will be assured that they will catch up.
