2000 Sparta Wisconsin Human Powered Boat (HPB) Race Results
2000 Wisconsin Classic HPB Race Results

Races held August 19th, 2000 in Perch lake, Sparta, Wisconsin. HPB races were featured at the  2000 Sparta "Wisconsin Classic" HPV races this year for the first time. Though turnout was meager and overshadowed by the 24 hour world HPB distance records, and scheduling problems shortened the available time for the races, it was still fun, and after all, that's what counts.  The peripherals of the race were filled with the most amazing feats. Bill Murphy's boat launched off the trailer at 65MPH on the way up, and he spent most of Friday fixing it, then placed second overall. Amazing!  Bob Buerger spent most of Saturday trying to find a course location in Perch lake deep enough for Jake's "New Fisics" Hydrofoil. Ron Drynan stayed awake for 36 hours straight to document the 24 hour HPB record. I (Warren) drag raced practically every other bike that came to Sparta, then proceeded to the lake and did not fall off my boat.
