The first race of the day was a one lap sprint, which
consisted of one lap to get up to speed and the next lap timed.
Rueben Gordon races his BikeE in the one lap sprint. |
| The one lap TT was used to determine which of 3 timed TT
races the competitor could race in.
Bill Lawhorn, local roadie fast guy, lays down a hot lap on his
upright bike. |
 |
 |
Jane Hunn races her Sunset in the 1 lap TT. |
| The group of racers with the fastest speeds gather for the 1
hour TT. Transponders were fitted to all vehicles, and laps as well as
times were counted with the AMB timing system. |
 |
 |
Faired racers line up for the 1 hour event. Left to right,
Bruce Gordon, Dave Johnson, Kevin Berls, Rich Myers, Rob Wood. Warren
Beauchamp started from behind the front row. |
| Unfaired racers line up for the 1 hour event. Left to right,
front to rear, John Heinbaugh, Rick Gritters, Doug Roberts, Jeff Hunn, and
Bill Lawhorn. |

Bruce Gordon in the "PopCycle" swoops past Bill
Lawhorn during the 1 hour TT.. |
| Streamliner class winner Warren Beauchamp takes corner one
wide to avoid scraping the body during the 1 hour TT. |

Dave Johnson passes Doug Roberts and Rick
Gritters. |
| Kevin Berls cruises past during the 1 hour TT |

| Stock class winner Rick Gritters powers into turn one. |
 |
 |
Rob Wood leans hard into the turn to stay low on the track
for the fastest lap speeds. Dave Johnson had a great performance in the
very large Great White, and was only 3 laps down after 123 laps. |
| Warren tries to get by Rob on the outside. Rob used NASCAR
tactics to keep Warren from passing for many laps, but he finally used
Kevin to box Rob in and make the pass. |
 |
 |
Doc Pearson hangs out on his EZ-1 trike, while HPRA co-dictator
Don Barry looks on. |
| Doug Roberts cruises through the pit area on his Jester. |
 |
 |
Matt Smith shows off his newly completed lowracer. Thom Ollinger
had just finished it late the night before. Matt was the overall winner of
the drag races on Sunday. |
| Mike Beresford shows his dual 16" FWD rolling
sculptures. Mike is a sculptor and it really shows in the details of these
bikes. |
 |
 |
Rick Wianecke just completed this very nice 24 pound dual
406mm quasi-low-racer. Rick is contemplating making plans available for
this very light bike. |
| Racers line up for the second TT. This one was 30 minutes
long. |

 |
Andrea Funk (Johnson?) won the 30 minute TT in women's class
on the old steel over the shoulder SWB Great White chassis. |
| Charlie Ollinger works hard to avoid being overtaken by
Andrea. Much to his chagrin, Andrea eventually lapped him. Andrea's goal
for next year is to beat the Chicago women and win the women's class race
at Northbrook. Rick Wianecke will be helping her out by building her
a new lowracer. |
 |
 |
Mike Beresford races one of his lowracers during the 30
minute TT. Mike and his wife came all the way from Rhode Island to race. |
| Rick Gritters leads the pack during the "last man
out" race. |
 |
 |
Faired racers line up for the last man out. Rob Wood won the
race, followed by Dave Johnson and Warren Beauchamp. |
| On Sunday racers had to be
content with just one series of races, the 1/8 mile drags, as the road
course was no able to be completely closed to traffic.
Here Rob Wood and Kevin Berls go head to
head.

Kevin had a bad start at the
beginning of a drag race, and got a nice coating of top fuel dragster tire
rubber on the side of his fairing. Luckily it should come off easily.

Racers pack it up and head it
out. Dave and Andrea found this skull at the local Wal-Mart and though it
was a great Halloween decoration. This bike gets enough looks already
heading down the highway!
