| The Slovenian
Eivie team raced at Battle Mountain in 2003, and Damjan
Zabovnik set a new European 200 meter speed record at
68.21 MPH (109.7 KPH!).
Since then they have designed
and built a new smaller and faster fairing, the Eivie
II, and have been trying for a 1 hour speed record in
Europe. A crash during a 1 hour record
attempt in 2004 has put them behind schedule, but there
are hopes that they will be returning to Battle
Mountaion in 2005.
This vehicle is unique in
that it is driven with the pilot facing backwards. The
pilot views the road by looking in a mirror.
